Thank You - Gracias

To everyone who participated in the Holy Week and Easter Liturgy celebrations here at St. Benedict Parish.  We had great celebrations, and there is no doubt that the Lord was greatly pleased with us.  The parish wishes to thank the many parishioners who generously donated flowers to adorn our church for Easter.  All who worshiped at or visited St. Benedict at Easter were struck by the beauty and profusion of the lilies.  Thanks also to JoAnne Sandoval and the environment committee who so tastefully and artistically arranged the flowers and decorated the church so that it spoke eloquently of Resurrection joy.

A special thanks to the Liturgy, Music Ministry (directors and choirs), Altar Servers, Ushers, Greeters, Lectors, Deacon David & Rita Estrada, Deacon Alfonso & Alicia Castillo and the RCIA, RICA and RCIC Teams for preparing our candidates for their Initiation Sacraments. May God Bless all of you!

A todas las personas que participaron en las celebraciones de la Semana Santa y Domingo de Pascua aquí en la Parroquia de San Benito. Las celebraciones fuéron magníficas y no cabe duda que el Señor le agradaron. La Iglesia de San Benito queria dar gracias a todos los miembros de esta parroquia especialmente a las personas que generosamente han donado flores para adornar nuestra Iglesia durante el domingo de Pascua. Todos los que han venido durante los servicios han sido muy impresionados por la belleza de lirios. Muchisimas gracias también a JoAnne Sandoval y al comité de ambiente por adornar nuestra Iglesia.

Gracias especiales a los Comités de Litrugia, de Música (directores y coros), Monaguillos, Ujieres, Recibidores, Lectores, Diácono David y Rita Estrada, Diácono Alfonso y Alicia Castillo y los Equipos de RCIA, RICA y RCIC por preparar a los candidatos para su iniciación a los Sacramentos. ¡Dios los Bendiga!

Youth Mission Update

To all who participated in, and to those who helped make our first Youth Mission such a great success. From the very first day of the Youth Mission you could see and feel the positive energy that was radiating from our youth.
This great event could not have taken place without the help of: Sr. Catherine Marie, OCD, Pettus Core Members, Carmelite Sisters and our parish staff.
A special thanks to the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Filipino-American Association, Guadalupanos, Italian Catholic Federation Br. Ill, Parish Library Tours, St. Benedict Parish School and Sp. Ushers who sponsored our Youth Mission.

At the end of each night our youth were greeted with refreshments in the parish hall which were pro¬vided by a different group each night: Wednesday the Sp. Prayer Group, Thursday the Secular of the Order of the Augustinian Recollects, and Friday the Christian Family Movement.

Adoration Chapel Stained Glass Windows Memorial Fund - Vitrales Ventanas De La Capilla De Adoracion

Repairs for the Stained Glass Windows in the Adoration Chapel are now needed. There are 7 windows for a total cost of $4,200.00. In order to help with the cost, we are offering a Stained Glass Window Memorial Fund. Read more

Adoration Chapel - Capilla Eucaristica

As you know our Adoration Chapel has been open since the Feast of Christ the King which was celebrated last November 25, 2007.    The people of St. Benedict are noted for their Eucharistic devotion and have asked that the possibility of some hours of intense daily Eucharistic adoration be made available to them.  Read more
